Working as an editor for Anchor English

Are you interested in working for us as a proofreader?

We are always glad to hear from new proofreaders but be warned, we have high standards! We have built up a good reputation so far for the quality of our proofreading work and this is largely due to the skill of our editors. However, if you can meet the conditions below we will be glad to hear from you, especially if you can offer experience in proofreading specialist subjects, particularly in scientific and medical fields.
We look for the following in potential editors:

  • You must be a native English speaker. (We have most demand for British and American speakers)

  • Education to university degree level or higher

  • You must have extensive knowledge of the English language and a love of working with words

  • Experience of writing

  • Knowledge of a specialist field in an academic discipline

  • Comfortable with use of computers and the Internet

  • You will need an up to date version of Microsoft Word

  • Ability to work to deadlines

  • Sufficient free time to do the work

If you can meet the conditions above please contact us by email with your CV and a cover letter. We will then send you an application pack and arrange an assessment.
